October 2020 Update

Guest

It's been a busy month getting Casedo's working relationship with both the UCL Law Society and UCL FinTech Society underway. We've also got some sneak news about the forthcoming version of Casedo, and we powered along, albeit individually, for the London Legal Walk.

Speed
We're thrilled that we're back in development again, with an update due before Christmas. Along with the usual tweaks we're excited by our latest development build which is showing substantial speed increases, over the current build. This will make a substantial difference to users with larger cases. Can't say much more at the moment, but will keep you posted.

Mooting
The finals of the UCL Law Society Junior Mooting Competition 2019/2020 took place on Wednesday 7th October, many congratulations to Aishwarya Shaji on a fine performance that won her the top spot.

The event took place on Zoom with Casedo used in the preparation, the performing of the moot itself and by Lord Carnwath for judging on the day.

From there we've moved seamlessly into this year's Junior and Senior mooting competitions with around 300 students so far registered for the competitions. Both competitions had completed there first rounds and will continue into next year.

UCL FinTech Society
Our relationship with the FinTech group gets going in earnest at their LegalTech conference on 30th November, in the meantime we've created a dedicated web page for them and are offering members 50% off the student price for the duration of their studies.

Legal Walking
Due to the pandemic the annual London Legal Walk was refocussed to a 10km challenge with our team getting on their bikes for the most part. We'll be posting some photos on the website soon. £485,000 was raised on the day in support of frontline legal advice services

In other news...

Just to remind you that in response to requests from users, we have set up a Referral Scheme. Acknowledging the client / lawyer relationship nature of most of our users' work, we have put in place a two-pronged scheme that works with referring Casedo to peers and separately to clients, this is built to negotiate any conflicts of interest. Please email jim@casedo.com if you want to find out more.
